Water resistant hot press glue for veneer bonding & lamination according to DIN 68 705 A 100 & DIN EN 204 D4.

Kleiberit Hot Press Glue 881.1 is a powdered veneer glue based on melamine formaldehyde. After the addition of Hardener 881.2 & additional filler (Extender 99) to adjust viscosity, 881 can be used for hot bonding from 90C. The bond is resistant to the influences of cold & hot water.

Application Techniques

  • Substrates must be acclimatized to room temperature.
  • Ideal 18 -20 C & 10 - 12% moisture content.
  • Mix ratio by weight (see technical).
  • Usable life @ 20C approximately 5 hours.
  • Applied by spatula, roller or glue spreading machine.
  • Coat weight (veneering) 140 - 180g square metre
  • Coat weight (crossbanding) 160 - 200g square metre
  • Assemble & press within 10 minutes of application.

Pressing - pressing times will vary according to veneer/panel thickness & ambient temperature of boards. As a guide, at 90C with 0.6 veneer allow a 5 minute cycle - see technical data for additional information.

Storage - must be kept in airtight container in cool, dry conditions. 881.1 @ 20C approximately 12 months & 881.2 hardener approximately 12 months.
