Detailed description

HA5000XL is a high quality wood glue suitable for all joinery applications where D4 water resistance is required (i.e. interior areas with frequent exposure to long term running or condensed water or exterior areas exposed to weather). Ideal for use in the manufacture of kitchens, bathroom furniture & panels, HPL, exterior doors & frames & exterior furniture.

Storage - protect from frost & store between 5 - 20C in sealed container. Avoid direct sunlight & elevated temperatures.

  • 48-52% Solid Content.
  • 4000 - 10000 mPas Brookfield DV11 20rpm@20C
  • Minimum Film Forming Temperature (MFFT) @ 8C

Bonding conditions - ideal temperature of workshop & materials to be bonded should be between 15-20C with a relative humidity value of between 8-12%.

Glue Spread - for wood lamination & flat surfaces spread rate should be between 100 - 150gm squared & for general assembly between 200 - 300gm squared.

Pressing Times

  • HPL & Wood Veneer @ 80C between 50 -90 seconds
  • HPL & Wood Veneer @ 20C between 20 - 40 minutes.
  • Solid Wood @ 20C between 40 - 120 minutes.
  • Solid Wood by Radio Frequency 2 - 3 minutes.

After RF allow a period of 5 minutes under pressure before releasing clamps. Pressing times are greatly influenced by the ambient conditions, types of wood used, amount of adhesive applied & the structure of materials to be bonded.
