Flat Pad

Flat Pad

Detailed description

Single-Sided Flat Pads

Places with limited access, such as automotive door handle depressions, bumpers & radiator grilles, etc are the ideal application for the Flat Pad. In contrast to emery paper, the Flat Pad can be folded without buckling. This prevents damage to the varnish. The texture of the Flat Pad is matched in an optimum  way to customer's requirements & also produces a perfect surface in the finest grits.

Advantages

  • Perfect surface finishes, thanks to pressure-distributing foam.
  • No sanding through of varnish due to excessive compressive forces.
  • Perfect adaption to the work piece.
  • Can be used wet or dry.

Applications

  • Keying of priming coats.
  • Keying of plastic surfaces prior to painting - K280 Medium
  • Final filler sanding in limited access places - K500 & K800
  • Matt finishing of varnishes - K1000 Super Fine
  • Matt finishing of top coat varnishes - K1500 Micro Fine

Three good reasons in favour of foam abrasives include low clogging due to soft backing materials & flexible grit adhesion ensuring dust is releashed from the surface of the block, pressure equalization reduces sanding-through of finishes & prevents pressure spots from fingers & adaptable to contours especially on shaped surfaces or areas of limited access. Abrasive does not fold or buckle in use permits an even abrasive pattern without scratching.
