Detailed description

Borden UXE77 is a ready prepared mixture of hardener & filler, providing a convenient safeguard against mistakes & reduces the numbe rof weighings. This hardener has the longest pot life in the series - a higher mix ratio (i.e 40%) UXE77 will permit an 'all-day' pot life whilst curing in a hot press in under 45 seconds. The higher amounts of hardener added the longer the pot life & setting times. This hardener can be used for veneering, assembly & joinery work with hot or cold curing.

Cold Press - practically this hardener is too slow for most cold cure bonding applications.

Hot Press - ideally suited to hot pressing applications. As mentioned above, offers a long pot life in use & used mainly where large volumes of veneering/laminated panels are generated. Standard mix ratio of 40% by weight but can be adjusted to suit production requirements for viscosity. Mechanical spreaders reduce the pot life by at least two thirds due to frictional heat & evaporation of water from adhesive - the addition of water to mix is required to extend pot life.

Extender 99 - no need to add further amounts of inert filler Extender 99.

RF Curing - suitable for  RF curing applications.

Guidelines for using UXE77with UF Resins

  • Mix by weight not volume.
  • Fixed 40% mix ratio but can be varied to suit viscosity, if required.
  • Prepare all substrates prior to mixing.
  • Moisture content range 6-14%.
  • Apply by mechnical rollers or hand applicators.
  • Spread rate of around 100-250gsm.
  • Ideal hot press temperature 80 - 100C.
  • Not suitable for cold press applications,
  • Below 10C adhesive thickens & cure rate slows.
  • 2 Year Shelf Life.
