AB1016 is a cream coloured, brushable, general purpose contact adhesive exhibiting excellent adhesion to most surfaces & provide good heat resistance. Bonds can be made over a wide range of open times because of its fast flash off & long open time. Non-soak in properties make it particularly suitable for edge bonding applications.

Use extensively for automotive trim applications, bonding decorative laminates to wood & wood composites in the kitchen furniture industry, and generally for bonding plastics (not expanded polystyrene or plasticised PVC), metals, leather, rubbers & urethane foams.

Application

Stir well before use - surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry & free from dust & grease. Condition materials to be bonded, particularly wood composites & decorative laminates, in the bonding environment overnight. Apply a thin, even coat of adhesive using a stiff brush or serrated comb. When touch dry align the bond edges & bond under maximum pressure using a nip roller, platen press or hand-held laminate rubber roller ensuring coalescence of the adhesive films. The high initial strength of the adhesive allows panels to be handled immediately although full bond strength is obtained over 1-2 days. Avoid excessive temperature variations over 3-4 days after bonding to allow substrates to normalise.
